Sailfish in Kona

End of summer may mean the end of kona marlin tournament season, but that doens't mean it's the end of fishing in Kona. We are a year-round fishery here. While sailfish are commonplace in other ports of the world, they are pretty elusive in Kona, and in Hawaii in general. Even though Jack has pretty much grown up on the Sea Strike and in the Kona fishing industry, he had never seen a sailfish hooked up before. Finally, at the end of summer of 2016, 17 year old Jack Leverone laid eyes on first sailfish taking out line from the Sea Strike and putting on an awesome aerial display. Jack leadered the billfish like a pro.
